The pre-clerkship phase of the TUSM curriculum uses interactive lectures and other forms of active learning (flipped classrooms, small groups, team-based learning, case-base problem solving) to fully engage students in the educational process.
Teaching opportunities during the TUSM MMC Maine Track Second Year curriculum include the following organ systems: Neurosciences, Intro Clinical Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, Reproductive, Hematology Oncology, Endocrinology, and Dermatology, in addition to anatomy, pharmacology, pathology, ethics and professionalism, and clinical reasoning.
CME credits are available for many UME educational teaching opportunities.
