The pre-clerkship phase of the TUSM curriculum uses interactive lectures and other forms of active learning (flipped classrooms, small groups, team-based learning, case-base problem solving) to fully engage students in the educational process.
Teaching opportunities during the TUSM MMC Maine Track Second Year curriculum include the following organ systems: The Brain, Reproductive, Hematology Oncology, Endocrinology, and Multisystem (Dermatology, Infectious Diseases, and Disaster Management), in addition to anatomy, pharmacology, pathology, ethics and professionalism, and threads.
CME credits are available for many UME educational teaching opportunities.
