Laura is a Clinical Ethicist at Maine Medical Center in Portland where she conducts ethics consultations, serves as an Independent Living Donor Advocate, and coordinates the hospital ethics committee. Laura also serves as faculty for the Maine Medical Center Nurse Residency Program and the Palliative Medicine and Clinical Ethics rotation for medical students and Fellows. She also serves as a Board member and Chair of the Ethics Committee at Hospice of Southern Maine. Laura has a Masters in Social Work from Boston University and a Masters in Theological Ethics, with a concentration in Bioethics, from Boston College and a Doctorate in Clinical Bioethics from Loyola University Chicago. She recently completed a Research Fellowship in Bioethics at Harvard Medical School. Laura was among the first bioethicists in the nation to earn the HEC-C credential for Healthcare Ethics Consultation.
