Rev. Heather Weidemann earned her BA in English and Women’s Studies from Yale University in New Haven, CT and taught English at colleges and universities in the San Francisco Bay Area before discerning a call to ministry. Rev. Weidemann received her Masters of Divinity from San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo, CA and is an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the United Church of Christ (UCC). She completed her residency in Chaplaincy and Integrative Medicine at California Pacific Medical Center and her training as a Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Supervisor at Saint Francis Hospital, all in San Francisco CA. Rev. Weidemann was certified as an ACPE Certified Educator in 2014 and has served as a CPE supervisor at California Pacific Medical Center and University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, CO. She is currently the Director of the Spiritual Care Department at Maine Medical Center, an academic tertiary hospital in Portland, ME. Heather supervises an interfaith spiritual care staff that includes service line, per diem, and community chaplains and also serves as the primary educator for Maine Medical Center’s CPE students. Her interest in quality improvement stems from her commitment to providing the best possible spiritual care in partnership with medical staff, community members, and other care providers.
