Sei-Gyung Sze, MD is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist at the Maine Children’s Cancer Program and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Sze graduated from Stanford University in 2005 with a degree in biological sciences and minor in psychology. She received her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in 2010. She went on to complete her pediatric residency at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital, where she was proud to receive the Morris Y. Krosnick Award for compassionate clinical care, and also served as a chief resident. She then completed fellowship training in both pediatric hematology/oncology and pediatric blood and marrow transplantation at Duke University. She has been honored to be a part of the MaineHealth community since 2018. She enjoys mentoring and working with residents and students,and serves as the rotation director for pediatric hematology/oncology. She has wide-ranging clinical interests in both pediatric oncology and hematology,and has particularly loved caring for the growing population of children in Maine with sickle cell disease and providing education within the region about this unique patient population.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Sze enjoys spending time with her husband and two active sons, cooking, baking, reading, exploring beaches, and trying new foods. She is an unashamedly occasional runner and is working hard to reverse her black thumb in the garden.
